Jeremy Clarkson has left some viewers concerned after his grid walk interview with Martin Brundle at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Brundle’s grid walk is a regular feature at F1 races with the former driver speaking to sports stars and celebrities from all walks of life.

He caught up with Clarkson and The Grand Tour presenter’s wife Lisa Hogan with the two motorheads speaking about the current state of F1.

“I spent all of today looking at the lap times – that’s how boring I am – from last year to this year and wondering what have they all been doing over the winter because the gaps are by and large the same,” Clarkson said.

“McLaren have got a lot better and much closer to Max and Lewis – that’s an anomaly.

“It’s a strange thing to go from one year to the next and for so little to have changed.”

He added: “People watching at home who like this sport will get what I’m saying.

“It’s a weird year this year I think.”

Clarkson then smiled when Brundle asked who he was backing for the race in Bahrain before cheekily replying: “Adrian Newey.”

But it was Clarkson’s demeanour during the interview that caused a stir on social media.

One fan asked: “Is Jeremy Clarkson okay? Sounded like he was having a stroke. Or he’s just p****d.”

Another said: “Was Jeremy Clarkson drunk he seemed a bit off.”

A third noted: “Jeremy Clarkson looked a little unwell just then, hope he’s doing okay!”
