King Charles has a “range of options” and Britons “shouldn’t panic” about the monarch’s shock diagnosis, a health expert has claimed.
Dr Laurence Gerlis, founder of SameDayDoctor, told Michelle Dewberry on GB News that he was “not shocked” by the announcement.
“The first thing is, don’t panic”, he said.
“The second thing is, I’m not shocked at all. I never believed the story that he had surgery for a benign prostate condition.

“They would have known this. That’s why he’s had surgery. I think that they’re releasing the news bit by bit, so I’m not shocked at all.
“It’s good news that it’s operable. Some cancers spread and they aren’t and people have radiotherapy and hormone treatment.”

He added that Charles could end up having a “combination” of treatments to make “absolutely sure” he makes a full recovery.
“It’s good news for him that it’s been caught”, he told GB News.
“It’s totally manageable, but as I said, I’m not shocked.”
Well wishes have poured in for the King from the likes of Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer as Charles begins a schedule of regular treatments.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on X: “Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery.
“I have no doubt he’ll be back to full strength in no time and I know the whole country will be wishing him well.”
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer tweeted: “On behalf of the Labour Party, I wish His Majesty all the very best for his recovery.
“We look forward to seeing him back to swift full health.”
Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle told MPs: “I know the whole House will wish to join me in expressing our sympathies with His Majesty the King following the news announcement this evening.
“Our thoughts are, of course, with His Majesty and his family, and we’d all wish to send him our very best wishes for the successful treatment and a speedy recovery following tonight’s news.”
